All 31 Altus firefighters have given Fire Chief Kyle Davis a vote of no confidence, accusing him of creating toxic working conditions within the department.

Oklahoma firefighters are calling for the firing of their chief, claiming that he has created toxic work conditions within the department.

All 31 members of the Altus Fire Department recently held a vote of no confidence in Chief Kyle Davis, KFDK-TV reports. Seventeen safety complaints also had been filed against Davis, and an investigation by the city is ongoing.

“Threats to people, bullying, intimidating us, retaliating against us,” Capt. Benny Barnes told KFDK about Davis' alleged behavior.

Along with the workplace conditions, members of the Altus Professional Firefighter Association claim he has misused city resources.

“Stealing money from the taxpayers here in this town because he has done things for his own personal gain during duty hours with firemen that he has ordered to go do these things,” Barnes told KFDK.

Barnes said he and his fellow firefighters are hoping to find support from residents to put pressure on local lawmakers
